Exploring the influence of family dynamics on eating patterns, we aim to develop interventions that foster healthy eating across different life stages.
Health Decision Making
We investigate psychological and social factors that influence decision-making in healthcare contexts, aiming to improve shared decision-making processes.
Intervention Development
Our research focuses on designing, testing, and refining interventions that address chronic conditions, pain management, and health behaviours.
Recurrent Urinary Tract Infections
We assess the clinical and psychosocial impacts of complex and recurrent urinary tract infections (rUTIs). Through our patient-centred research, we aim to increase recognition of validity of the patient experience in urology, reducing symptom burden and improving access to care.
Reproductive Health
We explore barriers and facilitators to accessing quality reproductive care, aiming to reduce gender disparities in health outcomes. We aim to show that reproductive and gynaecological wellbeing is a priority and quality of life can be enhanced.
Sexual Wellbeing
We examine sexual health in the context of recurring UTIs and other chronic health conditions, creating interventions to support psychoeducation, self-compassion, and healthy partner communication.
Spinal Cord Injury (SCI)
Our research explores the challenges of spinal cord injuries, focusing on improving both physical and psychological wellbeing and recovery, including better management of chronic neuropathic pain after SCI, adapting mindfulness practices for wheelchair users and exploring the limits of psychological therapeutic services offered to people with SCI.
Pain Management Programmes
We undertake audits, service evaluations and programme development work to enhance the efficacy of Pain Management Programmes. We aim for our research to enhance the psychologically-informed management of chronic pain within specialist pain services and beyond.
